Hi, I’m Yamila—the heart behind The Love Nest Design.

I didn’t grow up with much, and we moved often. Maybe that's why, even as a child, I instinctively sought ways to create a sense of home—to make each space feel warmer, more welcoming, and truly mine. With whatever we had, I rearranged furniture, fixed things, and added personal touches. It was my way of creating peace and belonging.

Before I knew that "interior design" was even a profession, I was already doing it in my own small way. As a teenager, I enjoyed helping friends and family improve their homes, organizing and decorating spaces with whatever was available. It wasn't about aesthetics—it was about how people felt afterward. The relief, happiness, and comfort that filled their homes touched me deeply. I wanted that feeling for myself too.

For many years, though, design was just a quiet passion, something I did without knowing what it was called. Instead, I built a successful career around numbers—budgets, spreadsheets, monthly reports. I genuinely enjoyed bringing clarity and structure to processes and teams, and I was proud of the stability and success I created. But deep down, I knew something was missing.

Everything changed when we bought our first house. We didn't hire anyone—we learned, planned, and did every project ourselves. Room by room, I discovered not just joy in the process, but my true calling. Between painting walls, arranging furniture, and transforming each space, I finally understood: This is what I’m meant to do.

For me, design isn’t about luxury or trends—it's about meaning. It's about crafting cozy, soulful spaces that reflect who you really are. A place where you can breathe, rest, and feel completely at ease.
